Two of the things I ask clients while completing my Creative Brief is what type of content they would like to include on their new website home page, and what the primary call to action(s) of the home page should be.

I’m not just being nosy, it helps me understand all the things you consider most important to your business, and how to best include them amongst the key requirements of a home page.
A great home page layout is engaging for users, provides key business information which helps the user feel comfortable selecting your product/service over another, and sells/showcases your products and/or services in a fashion they deserve.
Here is a nice article form Speckboy magazine which explains in better details and with references “How to write a homepage That Helps You sell“.
Worth a read if you’re building a website in the near future, or looking to improve upon a home page you already home.
